01 · Overview

The idea

Most puzzle games hand you the puzzle. SHIFRA hides it in the room.

Every level is a workshop scene and a locked vault. The scene belongs to one of three senses. A lamp you can drag, whose shadows develop marks on the floor. A wall of drawings cut into pieces, some of them forgeries, that must be rebuilt on a plate. A shelf of things you can tap to hear, whose sounds name the gears and the order they turn in. What you discover lands in your notebook, and the notebook is what opens the vault: pick the gears, seat them in the numbered wells, and pull the lever.

The vault is the shared language across all sixty levels, so every new sense you learn feeds the same mechanism. The run is shuffled to rise in difficulty and mix the senses unpredictably, and the later vaults ask for two of them at once.

There is no account, no in-app purchases, and no timer. Your run lives on your device, and every level, drawing, and sound ships inside the app, so the puzzles play offline. The app is free and supported by ads, which are the only thing in it that uses the internet.

What it does

Discover, then apply

Each vault is a two-part puzzle. First you work a scene with your senses — drag a lamp until its shadows develop marks on the floor, rebuild drawings cut into pieces, or arrange sounds on a strip. Then you take what you found to the vault, mount the right gears in the right wells, and pull the lever.

Three senses, one mechanism

Light and shadow, image, and sound each hide clues in their own way, but the vault is always the same language of gears and wells. Later vaults combine two senses at once, so the skills you learn early keep paying off.

A run that rises, never repeats

Sixty handcrafted vaults are shuffled into a single run that grows harder as it goes, interleaving the senses so you never know which one the next door will ask for. Start a new run and the order reshuffles.

Fair, not random

Every answer is deducible from the evidence in front of you. Nothing relies on guessing, on subtle colour differences, or on sounds a phone speaker cannot reproduce. Wrong attempts cost nothing, and three tiers of optional hints nudge you without spoiling the solution.

Yours, on your phone

No account, no in-app purchases, no timers. Your run is saved on your device, and every level and sound ships inside the app, so the puzzles play offline. SHIFRA is free and supported by ads, which are the only part of the app that uses the internet.

04 · FAQ

SHIFRA, in plain terms

What is SHIFRA?

SHIFRA is a single-player sensory puzzle game for Android. Every level is a vault with a gear mechanism and a scene built around one of three senses — light and shadow, image, or sound. You interact with the scene to discover clues, then mount and arrange gears in the vault to open it. Sixty handcrafted vaults are shuffled into one rising run.

Does SHIFRA have ads or in-app purchases?

SHIFRA is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob; there are no in-app purchases and no account. The puzzles themselves work offline, and when there is no connection no ads are shown. How ad data is handled is described in the privacy policy.

Do I need headphones for the sound puzzles?

No. Sound puzzles are designed for phone speakers and never depend on stereo, headphones, or frequencies that are hard to hear. If you get stuck on any vault, optional hints are available at no cost.

Who makes SHIFRA?

SHIFRA is designed and developed by Sollabs Technology, a UAE-based software studio that builds its own products alongside client work.
